There are different data sources and different methods to collect data for different language studies. What is vital to any language study is the validity of the data, for invalid data are dangerous pitfalls, which tend to impress readers as somethingscientific. The present paper tries to show the importance of valid data by analyzing concrete typical examples in published papers.
