Application SF-36 scale to evaluate the quality of life in gastroesophageal reflux disease

Objective To investigate the SF-36 quality of life survery scale in evaluating the survival quality of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).Methods Totally 121 out-patient cases with GERD were enrolled.According to SF-36 quality of life survey scale,through the questionnaire form to analyse of the epidemiological situation in patients with GERD,and depending on treatment of patients,to analyze the quality of life.Results All fields demonstrated excellent reliability in test-retest,split-half reliability(r coefficient ranged 0.93),and internal consistency (Cronbach' s a values0.700).The SF-36 before and after treatment in all indicators of quality of life scale were improved,especially in physical function and body pain,followed with physical authority,general health,emotional function,mental health and social function(P0.05,P0.01),while no obviously difference in vitality factor (P0.05).Conclusion It suggested that the SF-36 quality of life scale could assess the quality of life in GERD accurately.
