Effects of FOLFOX4 neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol on advanced gastric cancer

Objective To observe the effects of FOLFOX4 neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol on advanced gastric cancer.Methods 50 patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly divided into two groups:control group(30 cases,surgery-adjuvant chemotherapy) and observation group(20 cases,FOLFOX4 neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol-surgery-postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy).The effect and toxic reaction of FOLFOX4 on the patients with advanced gastric cancer were observed,and the R0 resection rate,complications incidence,survival rate were compared between two groups.Results In observation group,2 cases(10%) were complete remission(CR),12 cases(60%)were partial remission(PR),total effective rate was 70%.There were 18 patients(90%) were achieved Residual 0(R0) resection in observation group as compared with 19 patients(63.3%) were achieved R0 resection in control group(P0.05).There was no significant change in complications incidenceand survival rate between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion FOLFOX4 neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol is low toxic reaction.It can improve R0 resection rate of advanced gastric cancer,complications correlated with surgery are not increased.But it can′t improve the survival rate.
