The contamination survey of call lights and remote controls.

Objective:To investigate the pollution status of call lights and remote controls.Methods:In principle,every clinical department sampled one call light and remote control randomly,according to the monitoring method for the surfaces of items and environments,in all 52 samples were collected.Results:The call lights' positive rate of bacterial culture was 88.46% and the remote controls' positive rate of bacterial culture was 80.77%.Contaminating microbial strain included staphylococcus epidermidis,bacillus subtilis,klebsiella oxytoca,acinetobacter baumannii,serratia marcescens and heterogeneous citrate bacillus,etc.Conclusion:Call lights and remote controls had been badly polluted.Apart from the skin common flora,gram-negative bacillus which can easily cause nosocomial infection was also included,so disinfection of call lights and remote controls should be enhanced to prevent the nosocomial infection.
