Aim To detect the level of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in peripheral blood of patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN)aafter treated with losartan and fluvastatin on CTGF and urinary albumin excretion rate of 24 hours (UAER). Methods Twenty hospitalized DN patients were recruited and 20 healthy volunteers were selected as control group (NC). DN patients were equally divided into 2 groups by oral administrated losartan or fluvastatin. Level of CTGF and UAER were detected before and after treatment. Results The level of CTGF of DN group were significantly increased than that of NC group(P0.01). The levels of CTGF and UAER of DN group decreased after losartan or fluvastatin therapy (P0.01). Conclusion CTGF plays an important role in the process of DN,but fluvastatin and losartan can alleviate DN by depressed the level of CTGF.
