The investigation and analysis on the prevalence status of diabetes mellitus among Lanzhou residents.

[Objective] To understand the incidence of diabetes mellitus(DM) in Lanzhou,epidemiological characteristics of different age,area,sex,education level,occupation population and ingestion of high fat,so as to provide evidence for evaluating DM epidemiological trend for Lanzhou and taking corresponding prevention.[Methods] By a stratified cluster sampling,the questionnaire was carried out among residents of sampling points to investigate their lifestyle and prevalence status of diabetes mellitus,statistic analysis was performed to the related indexes.[Results] The prevalence rate for diabetes of Lanzhou was 18.25‰,prevalence for male and female were 22.96‰ and 14.52‰,respectively.Significant different was found in different age,area,occupational groups and ingestion of high fat(P﹤0.05),and the prevalence of different sex and educational level did not showed statistical significance(P﹥0.05).[Conclusion] The prevalence status of diabetes presented different among age,area and ingestion of high fat in Lanzhou.
