The historic reality of the existence of an epic legacy in European medieval literature, specifically Homeric although ultimately classic, is a well known fact and considered to be true by literary, philological and historical studies. However, few specialists have sought to delve into the knowledge of this legacy further than the general vision. As a result, a short approach is shown and proposed in this study from a closer and more concise perspective which compares directly the works to be dealt with and that not only reveals the truth of classical epic legacy in European medieval literature, also its pass through the time in shape, content, ideology and foundational purpose in the cultural mentality, both ancient and medieval.
