Integrative Visualization of Whole Body Molecular Imaging Data

Molecular imaging techniques have been developing rapidly over the past decades, especially in preclinical research. As molecular imaging is applied more frequently, more and more data is generated from longitudinal studies, often in various modalities. The increasing amount of data poses a number of visualization challenges for researchers, who need to explore and analyse this data. In this thesis, we present methods to map the data to a common reference frame, to combine multiple modalities and to compare scans taken at different timepoints. We implemented these methods in a framework that allows interactive exploration of the data. This framework has been used in practice for a number of use cases.
