This book represents the proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Facial Nerve Surgery, which was held Aug 9-12, 1976 in Zurich, Switzerland. The symposium was organized by Dr Ugo Fisch, who has edited the proceedings. The contributors to the symposium included otorhinolaryngologists, physiologists, neurologists, pathologists, biochemists, neurosurgeons, and plastic surgeons. The book contains not only the formal presentations of the participants in the symposium program, but also the edited discussions of the papers, including the discussions of the various panels that were organized to highlight the important features of the categorical areas.
