Observation of the Decay B0→J/ψη

We report the first observation of ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\eta}$ decay. These results are obtained from a data sample that contains $449\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs accumulated at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We observe a signal with a significance of $8.1\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and obtain a branching fraction of $\mathbf{(}9.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.7(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.8(\mathrm{syst})\mathbf{)}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$.
