Title: Gas bloat syndrome in two patients with neurological pathology Gastroesophageal reflux disease is common in children, more if they are underlying neurological disease. When surgery is neededforitscorrection,somecomplicationsmayappearoneof them is the gas bloat syndrome. In children with neurological pathology post surgery complications are more frequent, maybe due to their bad nutrition state. We show two neurological patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, in which a laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication was performed. In both, the initial complication was the gas bloat syndrome; they had a poor nutritional state, and a slower subsequent evolution. We must have in mind the post surgery complications after an antirreflux surgery, especially in patients with a neurological pathology. To reduce the surgical morbidity and mortality it is necessary to guarantee a correct nutritional state before any surgically intervention to be able to deal with the surgical stress.
