First measurement of the branching fraction of J/ψ→γf2(1270)f2(1270)

Using 58 million $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ events taken with the BES II detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, the decay $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{f}_{2}(1270){f}_{2}(1270)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ is observed, and the branching fraction $Br(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{f}_{2}{f}_{2})=(9.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.6)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ is measured for the first time, where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The branching fraction of $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{f}_{2}{f}_{2}$ is also measured to be $Br(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c})\ifmmode\cdot\else\textperiodcentered\fi{}Br({\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{f}_{2}{f}_{2})=(1.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{0.3}_{\ensuremath{-}0.4}^{+0.3})\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$. The nonresonant branching fraction of $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{f}_{2}{f}_{2}$ is $Br(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{f}_{2}{f}_{2})=(8.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.7)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}.$
