In the nuclear power industry, the offshore remote control vehicle (RCV) concept and much of its developmental design can find direct application. With the addition of specialized sensors and the development of more precise control and reference techniques, the RCV can be a useful and cost-effective tool. The technology that will permit such a tool is imminent.
