The ${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\eta}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ decay with the $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ mode is studied using $384\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected by the BABAR detector. The branching fraction is measured to be $(1.60\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.11)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$.
