Measurement of the Effective Weak Mixing Angle in pp¯→Z/γ*→ℓ+ℓ− Events

We present a measurement of the effective weak mixing angle parameter ${\mathrm{sin}}^{2}{\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\text{eff}}^{\ensuremath{\ell}}$ in $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}Z/{\ensuremath{\gamma}}^{*}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to $8.6\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of integrated luminosity.
